Below are some promotional ideas that have proven to be effective in many different types of communities.

Law Enforcement and Military Promotional Ideas:

  • Montgomery County Police Department (Montgomery, Maryland) provides the McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kit to its Community Policing officers as they travel the county making safety presentations to school groups, churches, scouts, etc. Montgomery County Police Department is one of our oldest customers (nine years). 
  • The Marine Corps Community Services on the United States base on the island of Okinawa purchased McGruff Safety Kits to help prepare military dependent families for safety concerns faced when stationed abroad. 
  • Office of Naval Intelligence (Washington, DC) purchased imprinted McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kits for use in its outreach program for families serving in the United States Navy. 
  • The Fort Campbell Regimental Safety Office uses the McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kit to promote child safety during their Family Safety Day. 

Businesses Promotional Ideas:

  • ADT Security Services, Inc. purchases ADT imprinted McGruff Safety Kits for use by their sales force to create company awareness. The ADT sales group also uses these pieces at consumer shows and as door openers and leave behinds after a sales call. ADT also works with local law enforcement officers to promote McGruff the Crime Dog. ADT is a long term customer of McGruff Safe Kids
  • Waste Management is in its third year of providing McGruff materials to the Houston Community. Through volunteers, Crime Stoppers, the Harris County Sheriff’s Department (Houston, Texas) and the Houston Zoo they provide McGruff the Crime Dog Fingerprinting Stations. At the stations Harris County Sheriff’s officers’ fingerprinted children, gave them crime prevention tips and sent them home with their own copy of the McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kit and a McGruff Trick or Treat Bag. All were imprinted with the Waste Management logo.  
  • The Tesoro Marketing and Refining Company ran its third consecutive FREE-with-purchase media supported Halloween promotion to drive traffic into their gas and convenience stations where customers received a McGruff Halloween Safety Kit, a McGruff Trick or Treat Bag and special Tesoro Halloween Reflective Stickers for the trick or treaters. Radio spots created awareness for the promotion. Brand recognition was one of the key objectives of the promotion. 
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina has used the McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kit for the last two years for a major consumer show designed to attract new members to their health plans. 
  • The Fort Campbell Regimental Safety Office uses the McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kit to promote child safety during their Family Safety Day. 
  • The Family Advocacy Program of Fort Rucker, Alabama has been using the McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kit as part of their family intake system for the last four years.
  • Dakota Electric (Farmington, Minnesota), a regional electrical cooperative, has used the McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kit for the last nine years as a portion of their community outreach. The imprinted ID kit helps Dakota Electric generate goodwill within the market that it serves.
